On Thursday, 27 November 2025, Prosopa Restaurant in Pretoria welcomes you to the Boschendal Gourmet Dinner, an evening led by Boschendal’s Cellar Master Jacques Viljoen.
Founded in 1685, Boschendal is one of South Africa’s most storied estates, and Jacques brings that history and a lifetime of curiosity to every bottle.
Chef Patron Dino Fagas and our in-house Sommelier Moses Magwaza have paired a specially curated four-course menu with five exceptional pours for a night that honours provenance, craft and hospitality.
Boschendal is a working farm with a purpose – over 1900 hectares of regenerative practices, gardens and conservation initiatives that shape every bottle. Their focus on soil health, biodiversity and thoughtful stewardship produces wines that are expressive, balanced and reflective of place. Expect warm hospitality, seasonal ingredients and dishes that let each wine sing.
The tasting sequence includes:
- Boschendal’s refined Brut MCC – lemon cream and almond biscotti leading into bright citrus and appealing freshness;
- Suzanne – a luminous, lightly oaked blend with a pale straw hue and a subtle green tint;
- 1685 Chardonnay – layered and zesty, with ripe tropical notes and lively acidity;
- Boschendal Nicolas – a generous red blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc;
- and to finish, the Potstill Brandy XO – warm, rounded and lingering.
Priced at R850 per person for four courses and five wines, this is Prosopa’s last Gourmet Dinner and Wine Evening of the year – a rare chance to celebrate great cooking, mindful winemaking and good company. Spaces are limited, and this is an evening you will savour.
