On Wednesday, 12 November 2025, The Book Bar and Prosopa Restaurant invite you to an evening that celebrates rebellion, resilience, and remarkable wine.

Join Author Bridgid Hamilton-Russell, daughter of pioneering winemaker Tim Hamilton Russell, as she discusses her powerful biography Red Tape: The Untold Story of a Visionary South African’s Battle Against Bureaucracy in conversation with Book Bar co-owner, Ingrid Hauger.

Together, they’ll explore the legacy of the man who defied apartheid-era monopolies to plant noble grapes in the rugged, untested Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, a region that would become one of South Africa’s most celebrated wine destinations.

Inspired by Tim Hamilton Russell’s daring pursuit of excellence, Chef Dino Fagas and in-house sommelier Moses Magwaza have curated a four-course Mediterranean-inspired menu paired with 5 extraordinary wines from Creation, Ataraxia, Bouchard Finlayson & Hamilton Russell, showcasing the Hemel-en-Aarde region. Expect bold pairings, layered flavours, and stories that flow as smoothly as the pinot in your glass.
