On Thursday 2 July 2026, Prosopa Restaurant invites guests to an exclusive Meerlust Wine Evening & Gourmet Dinner. The evening is presented by Meerlust winemaker Altus Treurnicht.
Chef Patron Dino Fagas and Sommelier Moses Magwaza have curated a bespoke four-course menu, each dish designed to perfectly complement every Meerlust wine.
Over eight generations at Stellenbosch’s Meerlust Estate and family-owned since 1756, the Myburgh family has crafted world-class wines. Winemaker Altus Treurnicht, whose journey from Elsenburg College to California and Bordeaux has shaped his winemaking philosophy, will guide you through the estate’s remarkable legacy.
Indulge in Meerlust’s signature lineup tasting a bright, expressive Chardonnay, an elegant 2024 Pinot Noir showcasing the finesse and balance for which Meerlust is renowned, a mature 2000 Merlot, and a robust 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon. The star of the evening is Rubicon 2023: Meerlust’s legendary Bordeaux-style blend, layering dark berry fruit and fine tannins. Each sip reflects the estate’s craftsmanship and is magnified by our thoughtfully selected food pairings.
As winter settles in, Prosopa’s Greek-inspired dining room, warmed by our fireplace, offers the perfect retreat.
