Prosopa Restaurant is proud to welcome Jean Engelbrecht, owner of the iconic Rust en Vrede estate, for a special evening of gourmet food and wine.

With roots dating back to 1694 and a legacy lovingly restored by Jean’s family since 1977, Rust en Vrede has become one of South Africa’s most celebrated wine estates.

Jean’s passion and deep connection to the land he calls home shine through in every bottle.

This one-of-a-kind evening features a four-course menu created by Prosopa’s Chef Patron Dino, with expert wine pairings selected by renowned in-house sommelier Moses Magwaza.

Welcome Drink  •  Stellenbosch Reserve Chenin

Fresh and floral with notes of frangipani, melon, and nectarine, balanced by a hint of ginger and a creamy texture.

1st Course  •  Donkiesbaai Steen

An aromatic blend of quince, pineapple, and gooseberry layered with white blossoms, vanilla, and pickled ginger.

2nd Course  •  Rust en Vrede Syrah

Elegant and expressive with black cherry, blueberry, leather, and spice. A rich, structured red with a lingering finish.

Main Course  •  Two Expressions

Rust en Vrede Cabernet Sauvignon: Complex and refined, with dark chocolate, tobacco, and black fruit richness.

Rust en Vrede Estate Blend: Layers of cassis, sandalwood, and fine-grained tannins with a long, bold finish.

Dessert  •  Rust en Vrede Estate Potstill Brandy (12-Year-Old)

Crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this brandy is smooth, rich, and a perfect close to the evening.
