Edmund “Eddie” Smit, CEO of Vriesenhof Vineyards, joins us at Prosopa Restaurant on Thursday, 30 July 2026 for a special Wine Evening & Gourmet Dinner. He and Chef Patron Dino Fagas, along with in-house Sommelier Moses Magwaza, will share stories of terroir and tradition behind each wine.

Having spent over two decades helping shape Vriesenhof, Eddie’s leadership blends strategic vision with deep respect for craftsmanship and teamwork. Under his guidance, this Stellenbosch estate – rooted in the storied Jan Boland Coetzee legacy – produces wines of elegance and character. Throughout the evening, Eddie will guide you through the estate’s philosophy and the dedication behind South Africa’s most celebrated vintages.

Your experience begins with a bright Vriesenhof Rosé welcome drink and a carefully curated four-course menu by Chef Dino and Moses Magwaza. Savour each course alongside five exceptional wines: the rich Barrel Fermented Chardonnay, the bold Jan Boland Coetzee Bordeaux-style blend, the robust Cabernet Sauvignon, and the acclaimed Kallista flagship – each thoughtfully paired to highlight the flavours of winter.

As Pretoria’s winter settles in, Prosopa’s warm Greek-inspired dining room (complete with a glowing fireplace) offers the perfect retreat. For R980 per person, enjoy four gourmet courses paired with five exceptional Vriesenhof wines.
